Purpose and Goals
Conference
Purpose
The purpose of the Midwest Pharmacy Residency Conference is to develop
future pharmacy leaders by providing pharmacy residents and fellows
from the Midwest region the opportunity to share their experiences
from various practice settings.
Conference Goals
To provide a forum where pharmacy residents and fellows can present
completed research or research in progress, a special project or
a case study conducted during their residency/fellowship.
To provide a structured setting that allows pharmacy residents,
fellows, preceptors, students, practitioners, industry representatives
and national pharmacy leaders the opportunity to exchange innovative
ideas related to pharmacy practice in organized health care settings.
To create an opportunity for the development of leadership skills
among current and future pharmacy practitioners.
To create an atmosphere that encourages professional network support
among conference participants.
Conference Sponsorship and Planning
The Midwest Pharmacy Residents Conference rotates each year between
major cities in the 13 states that currently make up the Midwest
region. Funding for the program each year comes predominantly from
industry sponsorship. Each year a committee from the host city plans
the conference dates, schedule and location and elicits funding
for the conference from industry sponsors. The national planning
committee is responsible for overseeing the conference from year
to year and assisting in the planning and fund raising.
