Purpose and Goals

Conference Purpose

The purpose of the Midwest Pharmacy Residency Conference is to develop future pharmacy leaders by providing pharmacy residents from the Midwest Region the opportunity to share their experiences from various practice settings.

Conference Goals

  1. To provide a forum where pharmacy residents can present completed research or research in progress, a special project or a case study conducted during their residency.
  2. To provide a structured setting that allows pharmacy residents, preceptors, students, practitioners, industry representatives and national pharmacy leaders the opportunity to exchange innovative ideas related to pharmacy practice in organized healthcare settings.
  3. To create an opportunity for the development of leadership skills among current and future pharmacy practitioners.
  4. To create an atmosphere that encourages professional network support among conference participants.

Conference Sponsorship & Planning

Funding for the Midwest Pharmacy Residents Conference comes predominantly from industry sponsorships.  Each year the National Planning Committee solicits funds from the conference from industry sponsors.  The National Planning Committee, comprised of individuals from different states within the Midwest Regional, is solely responsible for overseeing the conference from year to year and assisting in the planning and fundraising process.
